Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Murilo Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hit Bong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ribeiro kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dream Theater - Forsaken. Hit Bong has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Murilo Ribeiro's chin.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ribeiro moves into the clinch.
Ribeiro jumps guard but Bong stands there with Ribeiro around his waist. Ribeiro gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bong trying to control the position from guard on top but Ribeiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ribeiro has his foot on Bong's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bong works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bong trying to control but Ribeiro is working from the bottom.
Bong missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bong wants to control from the top but Ribeiro keeps moving.

Bong stands and steps away. Ribeiro gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Ribeiro changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bong looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bong wants to control but Ribeiro postures up.

Bong sneaks out the side door and pushes Ribeiro away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Bong displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ribeiro.

Bong throws a nice looking combination but Ribeiro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bong just misses with a punch to the body.

Ribeiro fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bong, pushing him back against the cage.
Bong has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bong tries to break free but Ribeiro pushes him back against the cage.

Bong is looking to break free of the clinch but Ribeiro has double underhooks.
Ribeiro keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bong's efforts to push away.

Ribeiro manages to pull guard.

Bong has gone for a leg lock! Ribeiro slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bong's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ribeiro pushing down on Bong's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Ribeiro moves into full mount! Bong won't be happy about that!

Ribeiro jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Bong is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Bong and Ribeiro has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Ribeiro is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bong knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Bong tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Murilo Ribeiro dominated that round.
That's time! Ribeiro's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bong throws a right hand that Ribeiro ducks under and follows up with a left that Ribeiro also avoids with ease.
Hit Bong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ribeiro scores with a takedown into Bong's guard.

Ribeiro postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bong is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ribeiro, into his guard.
Bong chips away with some ground and pound.
Bong must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ribeiro has momentary wrist control but Bong slips an elbow through the middle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ribeiro had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bong defends it easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Ribeiro drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bong prevents Ribeiro from improving position.

Ribeiro tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ribeiro has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bong is trying to buck Ribeiro off.
Bong is looking for a sweep.

Bong can't do much from the bottom here.
The referee asks Ribeiro politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ribeiro prefers to stall for the moment though.

Bong tries to improve position but can't.

Ribeiro has hold of Bong's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Bong seems comfortable defending it but Ribeiro has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Bong is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Bong is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Ribeiro couldn't care less - he's delighted!
