PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cosmo Kramer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brain Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Brain Edwards was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cosmo Kramer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brain Edwards!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards is looking to clinch.
Kramer looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Kramer instigates a clinch.
Edwards drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Edwards tries to break the clinch but Kramer is controlling the position.
Edwards jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kramer walks away with a smile on his face. Edwards gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Edwards tries for a takedown but Kramer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Cosmo Kramer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brain Edwards.

Edwards fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kramer sprawls well initially but Edwards persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Edwards in particular looking to stall.
Edwards wants to take a breather but Kramer is having none of it.

Edwards might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kramer kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Despite being in the dominant position, Brain Edwards just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kramer avoids the head kick by Edwards.

Edwards closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kramer to the mat! Kramer manages to get full guard.

Edwards gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Edwards digs a good hook to Kramer's body.
Kramer is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Edwards.
Edwards thows a body kick. Kramer tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Edwards throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kramer was covering up waiting for the punch and Edwards finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kramer has control of Edwards's left arm, preventing Edwards from doing any damage.

Kramer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Edwards can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Edwards stands and steps away. Kramer gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Edwards tries to clinch but Kramer moves away

and Kramer counters with a single leg into guard. Edwards didn't expect that.
Edwards is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kramer is controlling him.

Kramer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Edwards wants to sweep but no luck.

Kramer won't allow Edwards to sweep him here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kramer looking to sit in guard and control but Edwards gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Edwards controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brain Edwards dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kramer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Edwards defends it nicely.

Edwards forces Kramer back against the cage and clinches.
Edwards has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kramer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Edwards tries to break the clinch but Kramer is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kramer avoiding damage as Edwards throws knees to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Edwards shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kramer as he jumps to the side.

and Edwards counters with a three punch combo that has Kramer backing up. Kramer nods at Edwards to acknowledge the strikes.

Edwards wants to stall.
Kramer tries to land knees in the clinch but Edwards avoids the damage to the body.
Edwards looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Edwards breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cosmo Kramer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kramer slaps away a takedown attempt from Edwards, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kramer throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Edwards shoots in for a takedown but Kramer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Edwards takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

and Kramer counters with a shoot takedown. Edwards fights it but they end up in guard.

Kramer is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Kramer walks forward, straight into a front kick from Edwards.
Edwards shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Edwards avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kramer stuffs the takedown.
Kramer circles away from the clinch attempt.
Edwards fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cosmo Kramer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brain Edwards.

Kramer looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Edwards!

Kramer stands up from mount. Strange move.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kramer connects with a nasty looking knee right to Edwards's face.
Edwards tries to pull guard but Kramer won't allow it.
Edwards is trying to break the clinch but Kramer has him pressed against the cage.
Kramer misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Edwards.

Edwards jumps guard and drags Kramer to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kramer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Edwards works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Edwards looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Edwards manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kramer manages to get himself to full guard.
Edwards wants to stand but Kramer has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Cosmo Kramer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kramer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Edwards defends well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Edwards doesn't manage to clinch there - Kramer circles away.
Kramer throws a series of punches but Edwards moves out of range.
Edwards misses with a takedown attempt - Kramer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kramer leaves Edwards with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kramer has managed to clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cosmo Kramer showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Kramer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
