Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Ass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saper Rezviy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Ass has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Ass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Saper Rezviy!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice cross by Ass.
Rezviy misses with a few strikes there.
Ass shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ass closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ass lands in his opponent's guard.
Ass is pushing down on Rezviy's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rezviy is fighting to maintain full guard but Ass has managed to sneak the leg through.
Ass is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rezviy has hold of Ass's hands but Ass slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Rezviy is trying to get back to full guard.
Ass wants to pass to mount but Rezviy is defending the position.
Ass stalling.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rezviy is holding on to half guard well.
Ass sitting and controlling from the half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jack Ass just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Ass looks to land a combination but Rezviy avoids it well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rezviy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ass.
Ass shoots in looking for a takedown. Rezviy tries to sprawl out of it but Ass keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rezviy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ass.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rezviy looks to land a combination but Ass avoids it well.
Ass shoots in but no luck this time.
Rezviy lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Ass gets the takedown into side control.
Rezviy parries the strikes from Ass easily there. Ass is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rezviy to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ass is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rezviy's shoulder. That is not cool.
Ass throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The ground and pound from Ass seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Ass moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Rezviy is looking for a sweep.

Rezviy tries to escape but Ass is in control.
Ass in side control, throwing shots but Rezviy defends.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No luck for Ass with that takedown attempt.
Rezviy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ass.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Ass. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ass throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Jack Ass seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Rezviy. No joy for Ass on that attempt.
Rezviy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ass fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rezviy avoids it really well and circles away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rezviy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ass shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rezviy pinned against the cage. Rezviy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Ass decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rezviy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ass.
Ass slows the pace down in half guard.
Ass not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Ass trying to pass the guard but Rezviy defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ass lands a nice short elbow.
Rezviy is trying to get back to full guard.
Ass throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ass landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Rezviy wants to control but Ass is keeping busy.
Ass seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Rezviy slaps away a takedown attempt from Ass, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ass thows a body shot but no joy.
Rezviy scores with a jab to the head.

Ass gets a takedown into half guard.
Ass sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Ass's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Rezviy regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Ass.
Ass loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ass controlling from the top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rezviy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ass is one step ahead there.
Ass seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ass seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rezviy for as long as he can get away with.
Jack Ass is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jack Ass just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Ass uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rezviy.
Rezviy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ass looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ass showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rezviy.
Ass throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rezviy counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ass thinking.
Ass dodges the punch combination from Rezviy.
Ass fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Ass. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ass is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rezviy's half guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ass, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
