Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Flipper Gill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Jerabek!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jerabek turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Gill tests Jerabek's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jerabek misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gill avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Flipper Gill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gill ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Gill fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jerabek tries to close the distance and clinch but Gill swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Gill as Jerabek shoots in.
Gill slaps away a takedown attempt from Jerabek, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nice uppercut there from Gill.
Gill dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jerabek looks gassed!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jerabek is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Gill connects with the punch.
Gill wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jerabek takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Gill drops Jerabek with a nice combination! Gill dives into Jerabek's guard, looking to finish!
Jerabek is rocked!
Gill chips away with some ground and pound.
Jerabek is still in real trouble! Can Gill finish him?
Gill is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Gill gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Jerabek seems to have recovered his senses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gill connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Jerabek tumbling to the canvas! Gill pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Jerabek was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Flipper Gill!
