Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Oliveira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Elliot!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elliot defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Oliveira.
Oliveira looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Oliveira shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Oliveira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oliveira tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Elliot swivels and escapes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Oliveira shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Elliot as he jumps to the side.
Elliot fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Elliot throws a hook to the side of Oliveira's head but Oliveira sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Elliot throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Oliveira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Elliot tries to avoid it but Oliveira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Elliot to the ground. Elliot escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Oliveira throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Elliot's waist but Elliot gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Oliveira off to one side.
Oliveira shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Elliot's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Elliot wants to stand and escape but Oliveira is having none of it.
Elliot trying to keep a closed guard but Oliveira is proving a slippery customer.
Elliot might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Oliveira kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Oliveira is looking to work some ground and pound but Elliot has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Elliot wants to stand but Oliveira is controlling the position.
Oliveira pushing down on Elliot's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Elliot wants to improve his position but Oliveira is controlling well.

Oliveira works his way into side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Elliot tries to buck Oliveira off but Oliveira is having none of it.

Oliveira is working to tighten is grip on Elliot's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Elliot has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Oliveira is really squeezing tight and eventually Elliot passes out! Oliveira breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
