Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Soto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cecil B DeMille!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeMille scores with a nice body kick.
DeMille wants to clinch.
Cecil B DeMille seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
DeMille throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Soto bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Soto throws an elbow but DeMille slips to the side and avoids it well.
Soto trying to control the action but DeMille is working from the bottom.

DeMille throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Soto is defended easily by DeMille.
Soto takes a kick to the side of the head.

DeMille looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
DeMille has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Soto is proving hard to escape from.
DeMille slips nicely into half guard.
DeMille is trying to control. Soto wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

DeMille is working for a kimura but Soto is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

DeMille throwing shots but Soto is blocking nicely.
Soto looks like he's trying to stand up.

DeMille is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Soto has managed to free his arm - good work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Soto shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says DeMille as he avoids it easily.

and DeMille moves into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Soto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Soto is breathing heavily.

DeMille has Soto pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Soto manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

DeMille pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

DeMille clinches with his opponent.
Soto has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. DeMille avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
DeMille is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
DeMille connects with a knee to the head.

Soto takes a knee to the side of the body.
DeMille lands a nice knee to the body.

DeMille pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
DeMille lands with a slapping head kick.

DeMille shoots for a double leg takedown but Soto sprawls well. He's pushed DeMille's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
DeMille tries to clinch but Soto moves out of range.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from DeMille, right into the meat.

DeMille pushes Soto up against the ropes in a clinch.
DeMille lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. DeMille obliges.
Soto takes an elbow to the forehead.
Soto tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

DeMille breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cecil B DeMille dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Soto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Soto tries to keep at a distance but DeMille has taken the fight into the clinch.
Knees to the body from DeMille.
DeMille lands a knee to the head.
DeMille is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
DeMille tries for a takedown. No joy.
Soto prevents a takedown attempt there.
DeMille is trying to maintain a safe position but Soto gets an underhook and turns DeMille into the ropes.

Soto gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
DeMille is looking to stand up but Soto isn't so interested in that idea.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
DeMille looking to hit a scissor sweep but Soto is one step ahead there.

Soto passes easily into side control. Nice work.
DeMille is trying to work for a sweep but Soto has mounted him!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
DeMille is trying desperately to improve position.
DeMille wants to try and get back to his feet.
DeMille takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
DeMille squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Soto wants to control the pace but DeMille is squirming around nicely.
DeMille is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Soto misses with a head shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
DeMille wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Soto.
DeMille wants to hold on but Soto pushes him away.
Soto takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
DeMille's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Soto dominated that second round.
That's time! Soto's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



DeMille moves into the clinch.
Soto is trying to work for a single leg takedown but DeMille pulls him back up using the underhooks.
DeMille tries to pull guard but Soto won't allow it.
DeMille changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Soto fights it off and pushes away nicely.
DeMille is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
DeMille throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
DeMille thuds his shin into the meat of Soto's side.
Cecil B DeMille seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Soto tries to keep at a distance but DeMille has taken the fight into the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Soto takes an elbow to the forehead.
DeMille lands a knee to the head.
DeMille goes for a takedown attempt but Soto pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
John Soto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cecil B DeMille.
DeMille throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Soto.

That's one minute gone in the round.
DeMille goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

DeMille clinches.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
DeMille jumps guard but Soto stands there with DeMille around his waist. DeMille gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

DeMille manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Soto is standing up over DeMille. DeMille looks to escape but Soto dives into side control.
Soto wants to stand but DeMille is controlling his arm.
DeMille is pushing Soto's head away, looking to escape. Soto manages to hold on to the position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
DeMille wants to control but Soto postures up.
DeMille is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Soto is staying active.
Soto is trying to ground and pound but DeMille uses the momentary lack of control by Soto to regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

DeMille kicks Soto off and gets back to his feet.

DeMille closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
DeMille landing knees to the head.
DeMille comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
DeMille has Soto pressed against the ropes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Soto is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.

DeMille breaks from the clinch.
DeMille gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Soto counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
DeMille is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Soto is controlling him.
Soto won't allow DeMille to sweep him here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
DeMille keeping moving, preventing Soto from controlling successfully.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cecil B DeMille comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think DeMille has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
