PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Temple (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Powers comes to the cage accompanied by We Run This - Missy Elliot. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Henry Temple enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jerome Powers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Henry Temple!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Temple darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Powers will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Temple throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Powers on the side of the head.
Temple looks to score with a jab to the body but Powers is just out of range.

Powers drives through with a takedown into guard.

Powers drops back looking for a leg! Temple is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Temple manages to kick Powers off! Powers jumps back into Temple's guard.

Powers is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Temple is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Powers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Temple is looking to stand up but Powers isn't so interested in that idea.
Temple really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Powers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Powers trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Temple is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Temple is looking to stand up but Powers isn't so interested in that idea.
Powers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Powers missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Powers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Temple fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Temple cracks Powers with an open hand slap.
Powers dodges the punch combination from Temple.

Powers drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Powers wants to pass the guard but Temple is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Powers won't allow Temple to sweep him here.
Temple not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Powers drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Powers seems to have locked his on tight now - Temple screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Powers, as he picks up the win!
