PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Danny Robida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Great Dane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danny Robida had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robida slips a straight right by Dane.
Robida throws an overhand right that lands on Dane's shoulder, as Dane tries to avoid the shot.
Dane scores with a hook.
Robida throws a head kick that misses.
Dane throws and low kick but Robida moves out of range easily.
Dane takes a kick to the side of the head.
Robida scoring well with a low kick there.
Robida throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Dane.
Robida lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Dane thows a body shot but no joy.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Robida throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Robida swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Dane lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Robida sprawling to the canvas. Dane follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Robida hang on?

It looks like Danny Robida has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dane is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Robida doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dane.
Oh Robida is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Dane tries to score a power double leg takedown but Robida sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dane somewhat.

Robida throws a sloppy head kick and Dane moves out of range easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Robida misses the target.
Dane stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Robida takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Dane connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Robida's hands.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Robida throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dane shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Robida as he jumps to the side.

Robida with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dane to score with a decent uppercut.
