Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeffery Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Joe checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Anderson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Anderson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Joe is looking to clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Joe.
Joe wants to clinch.
Joe checks a low kick from Anderson.
Anderson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Joe throws a head kick but Anderson moves out of range.
A slapping leg kick lands for Anderson.
Anderson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Jeffery Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Joe tries to clinch but Anderson is having none of it.

and Joe counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Anderson's guard now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anderson has a closed guard, preventing Joe from standing up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anderson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Joe trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Anderson is looking to stand up but Joe isn't so interested in that idea.

Joe throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Anderson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A low kick from Anderson misses
and Joe counters with a one-two to the body.
Joe fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Anderson avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Big Joe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A head kick by Anderson misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Anderson darts in and clinches Joe up against the cage.
Anderson gets underhooks to prevent Joe's takedown attempt.

Anderson continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Joe fails to pull the fight into his guard.

It looks like Big Joe has been cut.

and Anderson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Joe counters with a left and a right that stings Anderson.
Anderson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Anderson throws a leg kick that is checked
and Joe counters with a one-two to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Anderson throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Joe counters with a series of strikes. Anderson will be more careful next time no doubt.
Joe shoots in and drives through. Anderson sprawls well.

and Joe counters with a nice body kick.

Horrible takedown by Joe or perhaps it was just good defense by Anderson which made him look bad.
Joe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Anderson but Anderson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Anderson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A solid leg kick lands there for Anderson.

Joe looks to clinch
and Anderson counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

and Joe moves into the clinch.
Joe tries a knee to the head but Anderson blocks it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A thudding body kick lands there by Anderson!
Joe chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Anderson can pounce on him.

Anderson has Joe up against the cage in a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Joe's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Anderson just leaning against Joe, taking a breather.

Anderson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Joe crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Anderson - the referee stops the clock and Joe gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Anderson. Joe manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Anderson throws a head kick that half lands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Joe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Anderson is fending him off so far but Joe persists. Nope, Anderson circles away and we're back to standing.

Anderson clinches up with Joe and pushes him back against the cage.

Anderson lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Anderson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Anderson stalling.

Anderson lands an elbow inside that Joe shrugs off.

Joe has hold of one of Anderson's legs. Anderson is fighting the takedown attempt but Joe gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Joe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Joe drops back looking for a leg! Anderson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Anderson manages to kick Joe off! Joe jumps back into Anderson's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Anderson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Joe really felt that one!

Anderson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Joe.
Anderson lands a head kick. Joe smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Big Joe's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
