Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eoin Duff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and steve brewer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duff shoots for a takedown but brewer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Duff tries to clinch but brewer moves out of range.
brewer wants to clinch

and Duff counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
brewer fails to pull guard.
Duff avoids a wild elbow strike from brewer.
brewer misses with some punches.

Duff pulls guard.
brewer thows a big elbow that misses.
brewer sitting in guard here, content to control.
Duff keeping moving, preventing brewer from controlling successfully.
brewer won't allow Duff to get back to his feet.
brewer is looking to stand up but Duff won't let him.

It looks like brewer is going to stand back up.

Duff is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
brewer sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Duff's guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
brewer prevents Duff from improving his position.
brewer is keen to just control but Duff is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
brewer throwing shots but Duff is blocking nicely.
brewer trying to control from Duff's half guard. Duff has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Duff manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Duff misses with a takedown attempt

and brewer counters with a takedown into side control.

Duff wants to control but brewer postures up.
brewer happy to just control the position for now.
Duff is trying to control brewer's posture but brewer avoids it.
Duff tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but brewer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Duff's face as brewer controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
brewer misses with a double jab.
brewer closes the distance but Duff moves to the side
and Duff makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
brewer takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Duff has managed to clinch.

Duff pulls guard.
Duff trying to keep a closed guard but brewer is proving a slippery customer.
brewer is fighting to break Duff's control of his arms but Duff is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Duff is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That was a close round but I would say that Eoin Duff will probably get the nod.

brewer looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Duff lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Duff connects with a nice short shot to brewer's temple.
Duff is controlling the pace.

brewer makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Duff wants to clinch.
brewer wants to clinch but Duff slips to the side

and Duff counters with a single leg into guard. brewer didn't expect that.

Duff looking to sit in guard and control but brewer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Duff is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

brewer is staying active underneath Duff, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

brewer avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Duff.
Duff moves into full mount! brewer won't be happy about that!

Duff wants to control the pace but brewer is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Duff pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Duff trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Duff is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. brewer can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Duff takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Duff with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Duff's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

and brewer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Duff's guard.

brewer gets to his feet. Duff looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

brewer wants to clinch but Duff slips to the side

so Duff counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Duff is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! brewer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! brewer has escaped and now he's on top!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
brewer trying to control the position from guard on top but Duff is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Duff looking to hit a scissor sweep but brewer is one step ahead there.

Duff is working hard here to advance position.
brewer wants to get up but he can't break Duff's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Duff wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Duff bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in brewer's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Duff gets to his feet. brewer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Duff here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Duff dives in and grabs brewer's left leg, looking for a takedown. brewer pushes down on Duff's head and hops out.

and Duff counters by moving into the clinch.
Duff tries to break free but brewer pushes him back against the cage.
Duff tries to pull guard but brewer won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eoin Duff. That's going to take a lot out of him.
brewer has a couple of punches blocked by Duff.
brewer is working for takedown but Duff is calmly controlling the position for now.
brewer misses with a punch on the inside.
Duff scores with an uppercut up the middle.

brewer is fighting off a takedown attempt but Duff is just too persistent for him and manages to trip brewer to the mat. brewer regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
brewer is looking to stand up but Duff isn't so interested in that idea.

Duff passes brewer's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Duff takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Duff is looking to stall here but brewer recovers full guard.

Duff stands and steps away. brewer gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Duff counters with a two punch combo.

Duff drives through and clinches with brewer against the cage.

Duff breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Duff shoots in for a takedown but brewer shows good takedown defense.

and brewer counters with a single leg into guard. Duff didn't expect that.
steve brewer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
brewer has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Duff is proving hard to escape from.

Duff pushes brewer off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eoin Duff.
Well Duff has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
