The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pounder avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smithsonian tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pounder paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pounder keeps the fight on the outside.
Smithsonian looks to land a combination but Pounder avoids it well.
Pounder blocks a head kick by Smithsonian.
Smithsonian throws a lazy right hand but Pounder sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Pounder shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Smithsonian napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Smithsonian takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Smithsonian parries the strikes from Pounder easily there. Pounder is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Smithsonian to escape.

Pounder cracks Smithsonian with a big right hand but Smithsonian just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Smithsonian is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pounder pulls his head out easily.

Pounder seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Pounder knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smithsonian on the ground.
Pounder is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Smithsonian is hurt! He's hurt bad - Pounder fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Smithsonian from any more punishment! Congratulations to Pounder! Great finish!
