And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ethan Jones!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briar's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Briar duly obliges.


It looks like Ethan Jones has been cut.
Briar with a hook.
Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Briar.
Jones takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jones gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Briar keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Briar is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jones has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Briar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Briar can't keep his opponent in guard - Jones advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Jones looks up at the clock and then as Briar takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Briar is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jones pulls his head out easily.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Jeez, Mathew Briar's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Jones seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
