Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Full Flavor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patterson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ice Cream Paint Job. Derek Patterson has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson lands with a hook. Flavor tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Flavor scores with a shot to the body.
Flavor misses with a low kick.
Flavor fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Flavor shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Flavor uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Patterson.
Patterson slips a straight right by Flavor.
Flavor ducks under a wild hook from Patterson.
Flavor throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Patterson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Patterson is looking to get to half guard.
Patterson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Flavor jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Patterson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Patterson and Flavor has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's time! Flavor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Flavor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Patterson tries a head kick but it misses.
Flavor takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Flavor's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Flavor duly obliges.

Patterson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Flavor does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

A punch lands to the side of Patterson 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Patterson doesn't manage to clinch there - Flavor circles away.

Patterson thows a left - swing and a miss!
Patterson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Flavor swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Patterson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Flavor defends it nicely.

Flavor lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Patterson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Flavor takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Flavor dips to his left and cracks Patterson with an uppercut!

Patterson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Flavor napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Flavor throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Patterson seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Patterson dives in and grabs Flavor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Flavor pushes down on Patterson's head and hops out.
Flavor misses with an uppercut. Patterson saw that one coming.
Flavor keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Patterson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Patterson there as he acknowledges the shot.

Flavor changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Patterson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Flavor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Patterson keeps working.
Full Flavor is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Flavor tries to move to mount but Patterson blocks the move with his legs.
Patterson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Flavor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Full Flavor overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Flavor seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Patterson won't allow Flavor to pass to mount.
Patterson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Flavor working over Patterson with some ground and pound. Patterson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Flavor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Patterson keeps working.
