Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Dunaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Dunaev will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Max Dunaev!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Dunaev fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dunaev misses with a head kick.
Dunaev throws a combination. Emelianenko tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Emelianenko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dunaev moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dunaev throws a sloppy head kick and Emelianenko moves out of range easily.
Emelianenko keeps the fight on the outside.
Dunaev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dunaev tries to clinch there but Emelianenko circles away.

Emelianenko bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Emelianenko is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dunaev is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Emelianenko landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Emelianenko tries for a kimura but Dunaev is defending well.
Emelianenko content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Dunaev is trying to control Emelianenko 's posture but Emelianenko avoids it.

Dunaev avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Emelianenko .

That was a close round but I would say that Fedor Emelianenko will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Dunaev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dunaev napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Emelianenko throws a strike aimed at the side of Dunaev's head but Dunaev avoids it well.
Dunaev is working to avoid the ground and pound but Emelianenko connects with a decent elbow.

Emelianenko tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Emelianenko has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
A lull in the action here as Emelianenko stalls from top position.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Fedor Emelianenko just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Dunaev's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Dunaev duly obliges.
Dunaev tries to clinch but Emelianenko is having none of it.
Dunaev misses with a head kick.
Dunaev rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Emelianenko moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Dunaev rushes Emelianenko and presses him up against the cage.

Emelianenko gets control of Dunaev's arms and successfully pulls guard. Emelianenko will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Dunaev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emelianenko . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Emelianenko takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dunaev looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dunaev misses with a head kick.

Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Emelianenko not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Emelianenko slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Emelianenko is looking to take a break and control but Dunaev is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dunaev tries to clinch up but Emelianenko circles away and keeps his distance.
Emelianenko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dunaev's waist but Dunaev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Emelianenko off to one side.

Dunaev throws a series of strikes that have Emelianenko backpedaling.

A decent looking cross lands there for Emelianenko .
A nice inside leg kick there by Dunaev. That's going to slow Emelianenko down.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Emelianenko tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dunaev knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Dunaev is looking to escape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Still in half guard, Emelianenko seems content to control.
Emelianenko is looking to advance position but Dunaev won't allow it.

Emelianenko seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dunaev for as long as he can get away with.

Max Dunaev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
