Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jermaine Andre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicodemus Denarian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andre comes to the cage accompanied by Till I Collapse. Nicodemus Denarian has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jermaine Andre!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nicodemus Denarian!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Andre or perhaps it was just good defense by Denarian which made him look bad.

Denarian gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Denarian lands a nice uppercut.
Andre tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Denarian just stands there and leans against the cage.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Denarian swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Denarian has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Andre regains guard immediately.
Denarian throws and elbow that misses. Andre uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Denarian's guard. Nice move by Andre!
Andre postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Andre throwing strikes but missing.
Andre throwing strikes from guard but Denarian blocks nicely.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Denarian can do anything to dispel that myth.
Andre in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Denarian trying to keep a closed guard but Andre is proving a slippery customer.
Denarian working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Andre.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Andre trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Denarian is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Andre is controlling him.
Denarian really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Andre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Andre shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jermaine Andre. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Denarian tries to clinch up.
Denarian looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Andre fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Denarian shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Denarian is in close to Andre's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Andre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Denarian scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Andre throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Denarian postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Denarian trying to stand up but can't free himself from Andre's guard.
Andre is trying to keep Denarian in close.

Denarian got a little sloppy there for a moment and Andre has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Denarian has managed to get both his arms back between Andre's legs - danger averted.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Andre will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Denarian has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Andre to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Denarian is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Andre pulls down on the head and he's put Denarian to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jermaine Andre!
