PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyrone Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Minard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Compton comes to the cage accompanied by Fuckin' In The Bushes. Minard has chosen Walk as his entrance music. Liam Minard told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Liam Minard!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minard throws a shot from downtown. Compton moves away and avoids it.
Jab by Minard.
A looping hook to the body misses from Minard. Compton does a little dance to reset his feet.
Compton throws a body punch but Minard moves out of range.
Minard shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Compton as he jumps to the side.
Minard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Compton throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Minard ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Compton moves away.
Compton needs to keep his hands up - Minard had a free shot at his head there.
Compton walks into a straight right hand from Minard.
Compton throws a quick inside leg kick.
Compton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Liam Minard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Compton bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Compton thuds a left hand into Minard's body.
A low kick from Minard misses
and Compton counters with a left to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Compton stuns Minard with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Minard looks gassed!
Compton lands with a shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Compton keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Compton throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Minard sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Compton connects with a single shot there.
A clash of legs there as Minard blocks the low kick.
Minard misses with a wild body shot.
Compton moves into range and connects with a jab.
Compton dips to his left and cracks Minard with an uppercut!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Compton misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Minard.
Compton is looking to wear down Minard with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Compton takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Compton cracks Minard with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Compton has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Minard to stand back up!

Compton drops Minard with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Minard looks back up at him and smiles so Compton waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Minard is rocked!
Compton cracks Minard with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Minard tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Compton pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Minard is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
