Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergei AK!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Carter!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by AK.
AK creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Carter sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

AK tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no AK has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

AK is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Carter has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ground and pound from AK seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

AK thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Carter goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

AK drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Sergei AK overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

AK working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

AK escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

AK feints and as Carter raises his hands in defense, AK changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
AK is working Carter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Carter is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Carter is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and AK dives into side control.

Carter pushes AK away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, AK gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
