Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Don Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slice kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Welcome to the Jungle. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Don Slice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Tate!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slice throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Tate on the side of the head.
Slice throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Tate closes the distance and pushes Slice back into the cage.
Tate avoids the elbow strike from Slice, against the cage.
Tate has Slice pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Slice manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Slice looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Tate has Slice pressed against the cage, preventing Slice from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Slice is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Slice lands a nice elbow.


It looks like Jon Tate has been cut.
Slice gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Tate.
Tate goes for a takedown in the clinch but Slice prevents it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Slice tries to kick Tate off but Tate keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Slice has hold of Tate's hands but Tate slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Tate thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Slice is looking to improve his position.
Slice is trying to stand.
Tate thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Slice's head.
Slice is looking for a sweep. Tate is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Slice misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Tate wants to control but Slice is keeping him busy.
Tate prevents Slice from improving his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Tate cracks Slice with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Slice throws a nice looking combination but Tate bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Slice slips under a jab from Tate.
Slice fails to land with a series of punches.
Slice rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tate moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Tate takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Tate clinches with his opponent.

Slice pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Slice misses with a jab, cross combination.

Tate moves into the clinch.

Slice is looking to break free of the clinch but Tate has double underhooks.

Slice tries to break free but Tate pushes him back against the cage.
Tate keeps control of Slice as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Tate continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Slice has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Tate takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Slice ducks under a wild hook from Tate.
Tate swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Danga de danga de dang - Slice scores with a four punch combination!
Slice is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Tate moves into the clinch successfully.
Slice is trying to break free.
Tate works on Slice's body with a couple of short punches.
Tate lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Slice is trying to break free.
Tate scores with a shoulder strike.
Tate lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Tate stalling the fight.
Slice tries to circle away but Tate has him pinned against the cage.
Slice wants to break the clinch but can't.

Tate distracts Slice with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Tate works over Slice with some ground and pound from guard.
Slice wants to stand but Tate is controlling the position.
Slice wants to get back to his feet but Tate passes into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Slice tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Tate has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Slice is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

A nice elbow there by Tate.

Tate trying to control but Slice is having none of it.
You get the feeling that Slice really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Tate lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Tate connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Slice tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Tate lands a nice shot to the head.


Slice is rocked!
Slice takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Oh Slice is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
