Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pai Mei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tokahuro Nagabushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pai Mei has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pai Mei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tokahuro Nagabushi!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mei shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nagabushi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Mei wants to control from the top but Nagabushi keeps moving.
Mei wants to pass the guard but Nagabushi is keeping the position.

Mei is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mei pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nagabushi is keeping the position for now.
Mei loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mei wants to control from the top but Nagabushi keeps moving.

Mei drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mei jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Nagabushi keeping moving, preventing Mei from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nagabushi throws a combination. Mei tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mei is looking to clinch but Nagabushi is avoiding it.
Mei dodges the punch combination from Nagabushi.
Nagabushi misses with a wild combination.
Mei takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nagabushi throws a series of punches but Mei avoids them all with ease.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nagabushi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mei.
Nagabushi throws a right and a left that Mei avoids nicely.
Mei falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mei takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Mei closes the distance and pushes Nagabushi back into the ropes.
Mei keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nagabushi's efforts to push away.

Mei breaks from the clinch.

Mei shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Mei is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mei is breathing heavily.

Mei looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nagabushi tries to kick Mei off but Mei keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Mei slows the pace down in half guard.
Mei is keen to just control but Nagabushi is a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mei seems to be looking for submissions.
Nagabushi keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Nagabushi is refusing to be controlled, as Mei sits in half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nagabushi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nagabushi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Mei avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mei slips a jab and a cross from Nagabushi.
Mei is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nagabushi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Nagabushi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Mei looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Pai Mei will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Nagabushi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Mei scores a takedown into full mount!
Nagabushi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mei. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mei can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nagabushi is looking to escape.
Mei throws some wild stikes that Nagabushi manages to avoid easily.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Mei is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Nagabushi is surviving well by controlling Mei's body position as best he can.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nagabushi is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mei thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Nagabushi defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Mei.
Mei is looking to stand but Mei has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Mei is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nagabushi has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nagabushi!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mei is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Nagabushi scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Nagabushi throws a combination. Mei tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Nagabushi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nagabushi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nagabushi moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Nice shot by Nagabushi.
Nagabushi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mei backs up against the ropes.


Mei is rocked!
Tokahuro Nagabushi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Good exchange - Nagabushi coming out on top.
Oh Mei is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mei slips a jab and a cross from Nagabushi.
Nagabushi cracks Mei with an open hand slap.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nagabushi Rushes Mei and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Mei is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Nagabushi Piles on the pressure and Mei crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tokahuro Nagabushi!
