Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between souske Sagara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marion Brasco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sagara has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Marion Brasco has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, souske Sagara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marion Brasco!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brasco scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Brasco has managed to clinch.
Sagara really is a fat lump.

Brasco breaks from the clinch.
Brasco thumps Sagara with a low kick.

Brasco shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Brasco was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Brasco breaks from Sagara's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brasco takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Sagara on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sagara tries to get out of the position.

Brasco is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sagara can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Brasco has control of Sagara's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sagara regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Despite being in the dominant position, Marion Brasco just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Brasco turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Sagara takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Brasco throws a front kick that sends Sagara stumbling back into the cage.

Brasco closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Brasco clinches up against the cage.
Sagara tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brasco smiles and moves away.

Sagara gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Brasco has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Brasco stands and steps away. Sagara gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Brasco slips a nice elbow through Sagara's hands, connecting with Sagara's forehead.

Brasco is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Brasco seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Sagara is in trouble now - Brasco has advanced to mount!

Brasco is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Sagara has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brasco sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Brasco lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marion Brasco showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Sagara stuffs the takedown attempt from Brasco. Brasco gets slowly back to his feet.
Danga de danga de dang - Brasco scores with a four punch combination!
Sagara misses with the body kick

and Brasco counters with a shoot takedown. Sagara fights it but they end up in guard.
Brasco keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sagara's head.

Brasco decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Brasco moves into the clinch.

Brasco drags the fight down to the ground.
Brasco has a closed guard, preventing Sagara from standing up.

Brasco is trying to keep Sagara in close.
Brasco is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Brasco moves into full mount! Sagara won't be happy about that!
Brasco postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sagara looks a forlorn figure.

Brasco tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Brasco shoots in for a takedown but Sagara shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Marion Brasco is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Brasco shoots in but no luck this time.
souske Sagara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marion Brasco.

Well Brasco has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
