Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marius Aeriksen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Kabanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quinton Kabanov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marius Aeriksen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Quinton Kabanov!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Kabanov does no damage.

Aeriksen clinches.
Kabanov wants to get back to striking at distance but Aeriksen won't allow it.

Aeriksen gets control of Kabanov's arms and successfully pulls guard. Aeriksen will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Aeriksen is looking to stand but Aeriksen has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Kabanov is looking to improve his position but Aeriksen isn't that keen on the idea.

Aeriksen goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Kabanov is on top in guard.

Aeriksen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Aeriksen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kabanov decides to stand back up. Kabanov steps back and let's Aeriksen get back to his feet.

Kabanov makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Aeriksen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kabanov on the ground.

Aeriksen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kabanov pinned against the cage. Kabanov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Aeriksen shoots in and bounces Kabanov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kabanov pulls Aeriksen in close to his closed guard and prevents Aeriksen from doing any damage or advancing position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kabanov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Aeriksen stands up and waves to Kabanov to follow him.

Aeriksen tries to bum rush Kabanov with a series of wild strikes but Kabanov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Aeriksen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kabanov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Aeriksen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kabanov moves away.
Aeriksen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marius Aeriksen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kabanov throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Kabanov buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Aeriksen tries a head kick but it misses.

Aeriksen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kabanov sprawls well initially but Aeriksen persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Aeriksen wants to control but Kabanov is keeping him busy.
Kabanov wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aeriksen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kabanov as he jumps to the side.

and Kabanov counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Aeriksen's guard now.
Kabanov passes into half guard.
Kabanov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Aeriksen's head.
Aeriksen is trying to control but can't.
Kabanov works his way into side control.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kabanov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Aeriksen, who protects the arm well.
Aeriksen tries to buck Kabanov off but Kabanov is having none of it.

Kabanov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kabanov wants to control but Aeriksen is keeping him busy.
You can see the frustration on Aeriksen's face as Kabanov controls the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Aeriksen dodges the ground and pound from Kabanov.
Aeriksen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Kabanov not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Aeriksen is trying to maintain the position but Kabanov is very close to passing his half guard.
Kabanov trying to control from half guard but Aeriksen is working away.
Kabanov passes to full mount!
Kabanov prevents Aeriksen from getting the reversal.

Aeriksen's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Kabanov wants to control the pace but Aeriksen is squirming around nicely.

Aeriksen wants to hold on but Kabanov pushes him away.
Aeriksen throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Kabanov is landing with some decent strikes but Aeriksen is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Aeriksen tries to hold on but Kabanov postures up.
Kabanov breaks from Aeriksen's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Aeriksen wants to control but Kabanov is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Quinton Kabanov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kabanov has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
