Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane O Neill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David O Conner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Shane O Neill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, David O Conner!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

O Conner clinches up with O Neill and pushes him back against the cage.

O Conner works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
O Neill is controlling O Conner's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
O Neill keeping full guard, as O Conner tries to pass.
O Conner slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

O Conner is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. O Neill knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
O Neill is not content to let O Conner control the position.

O Conner tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
O Conner wants to take a breather but O Neill manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for O Conner.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as O Neill holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

O Neill is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

O Conner trying to control the position from guard on top but O Neill is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
O Neill shoots in for a takedown but O Conner shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
O Conner tries to close the distance and clinch but O Neill swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
O Neill looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and O Conner counters by moving into the clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
O Conner presses O Neill against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
O Conner tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. O Neill just stands there and leans against the cage.

O Conner softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, O Conner creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
O Neill is trying to break free.

O Conner successfully pulls guard.
O Neill is fighting to break O Conner's control of his arms but O Conner is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

and O Neill counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Shane O Neill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David O Conner.
O Neill wants to control from the top but O Conner keeps moving.
O Conner can't keep his opponent in guard - O Neill advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
O Neill trying to control the pace.
O Conner is breathing heavily.

O Conner is looking to control O Neill's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can O Conner avoid being mounted?
O Neill wants to stand up but O Conner is controlling the position.
O Neill looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
O Neill seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but O Conner does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
O Neill passes to side control.

O Conner bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

O Neill closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

O Neill shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in O Conner's guard.
O Conner pulls O Neill in close to his closed guard and prevents O Neill from doing any damage or advancing position.

O Conner wriggles free and stands up.
The fight stays on the outside here - O Neill looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and O Conner counters with a nice double leg into side control. O Neill won't be happy with that.

O Neill tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but O Conner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Shane O Neill will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

O Neill fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with O Conner, pushing him back against the cage.
O Conner has a couple of punches blocked by O Neill.

O Neill wants to take a breather but O Conner is having none of it.
O Conner is controlling O Neill's position as best he can from this difficult position.
O Neill wants to free his trapped foot but O Conner is holding on for dear life with his legs.
O Neill moves nicely into side control.
You can see the frustration on O Conner's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
