PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mac Tzu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chang T Roc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tzu kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is How I Could Just Kill A Man. Chang T Roc has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mac Tzu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chang T Roc!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tzu clinches.
Tzu tries a knee to the head but Roc blocks it.

Tzu manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Tzu tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Tzu uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Tzu gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Tzu on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Tzu tries to break the clinch but Roc is controlling the position.
Roc blocks the elbow strike.

Tzu decides to pull guard.
Tzu looking for a sweep. Not yet Tzu, not yet.
Tzu looking to control.
Tzu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Roc's guard.
Roc looks gassed!

Tzu stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Roc tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Tzu holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Roc tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Tzu with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Tzu has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Roc is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Tzu manages to break the clinch.
Roc wants to clinch but Tzu slips to the side

and Tzu counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Roc tries to land knees in the clinch but Tzu avoids the damage to the body.
Roc throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tzu blocks it with crossed arms.

Tzu breaks the clinch.

Tzu pushes Roc up against the cage in a clinch.

Roc throws a knee to the head but misses.

Tzu works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tzu thows a big elbow that misses.
Tzu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Tzu is working Roc over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Tzu won't allow Roc to get back to his feet.

Tzu trying to control the position from guard on top but Roc is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tzu distracts Roc with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Tzu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Tzu is pushing down on Roc's leg trying to pass to half guard. Roc is fighting to maintain full guard but Tzu has managed to sneak the leg through.

Tzu decides to stand up.

Tzu darts in and clinches Roc up against the cage.

Roc tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Roc misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Tzu.
Tzu tries for a takedown. No joy.
Tzu crunches a lovely knee into Roc's ribcage.
Tzu is looking to control Roc's arms but Roc gets an underhook and turns him. Now Tzu has his back to the cage.

Roc takes an elbow to the temple.

Tzu unloads a knee to the mid-section. Roc lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Tzu breaks the clinch.

and Tzu counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Roc!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee warns Roc that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Tzu working for a submission but Roc is keeping him at bay.
Tzu wants to control the pace but Roc is squirming around nicely.
Roc really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tzu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tzu raining down shots from the mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mac Tzu dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Tzu closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Tzu gets the takedown into side control.
Tzu wants to control but Roc is keeping him busy.
Tzu works to advance to full mount. Roc defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Tzu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

BOOM! Tzu connects with a massive shot to the dome!


Roc is rocked!
Roc is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tzu scoring with strikes but Roc is staying in there.
Roc is still in real trouble! Can Tzu finish him?
Tzu punishing his opponent with strikes.
Tzu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Tzu connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Tzu has hold of Roc's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Roc manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Roc seems to have recovered his senses.
Tzu trying to control but Roc is having none of it.

Tzu goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Roc turns into him and now he's in Tzu's guard.

Tzu pulls Roc in close to prevent any damage.

Tzu is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Roc tries to land knees in the clinch but Tzu avoids the damage to the body.

Tzu thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Roc's head.

Tzu stands up and beckons Roc to join him on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Roc checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mac Tzu dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Roc darts in trying to clinch

and Tzu counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Tzu working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Tzu stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Roc to get to his feet.
Tzu lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Tzu has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Roc avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Roc throws a knee to the head but misses.

Tzu has picked Roc up - he's going for a ride! Tzu dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Tzu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roc does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Tzu with the ground and pound but Roc uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Mac Tzu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Roc takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tzu decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Tzu clinches with his opponent.
Tzu avoiding damage as Roc throws knees to the body.
Tzu stalls.
Tzu lands a body shot.

Tzu manages to pull guard.
Roc wants to get up but he can't break Tzu's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Tzu is looking for a triangle but Roc pushes his legs off easily.

Tzu uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Tzu bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tzu wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Roc, who protects the arm well.

Tzu grinds an elbow into Roc's temple.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tzu slows the pace down.

Tzu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Roc has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tzu goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Roc rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Tzu's guard! Nice work there by Roc!
Tzu has a closed guard, preventing Roc from standing up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Tzu pushes Roc off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Tzu closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Roc to the mat! Roc manages to get full guard.

Tzu gets to his feet. Roc looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Chang T Roc has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tzu goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Tzu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Roc's waist but Roc gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tzu off to one side.
Chang T Roc is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Roc has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Tzu moves into the clinch.
Tzu misses with a knee strike.
A short body shot lands from Tzu as the two fighters clinch.
Roc throws a knee to the head but misses.
Tzu with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Tzu lands a damaging elbow.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mac Tzu showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Tzu has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
