PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Simon Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oishi Yoshio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simpson comes to the cage accompanied by Supaman. Yoshio comes into a darkened arena with his song building. "Stronger" by Kanye West kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Simon Simpson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Simon Simpson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshio leaves Simpson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Yoshio moves into range and clinches up with Simpson.
Simpson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Yoshio is pressed up against the cage. Simpson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Yoshio down to the mat. Yoshio avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Simpson looks to score with a jab to the body but Yoshio is just out of range.

Yoshio throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Simpson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Simon Simpson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yoshio throws a half hearted mid kick.
Simpson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Yoshio.

and Yoshio counters with a head kick.
Yoshio fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Simpson checks it well.
Yoshio throws a front kick aimed at Simpson's knee but Simpson avoids it well.

and Yoshio counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Yoshio.

Simpson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Yoshio has his hands clasped together but Simpson extends an breaks Yoshio's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Simpson.
