Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dewey Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Garruk Wildspeaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dewey Cox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Garruk Wildspeaker!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cox keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dewey Cox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

so Wildspeaker counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Wildspeaker wants to stand and escape but instead Cox has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Wildspeaker swats away the attempt to clinch by Cox.
Wildspeaker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Cox clinches up with Wildspeaker and pushes him back against the cage.

Cox will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cox postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Cox wants to control from the top but Wildspeaker keeps moving.
Cox postures up in Wildspeaker's guard and throws a big left but Wildspeaker blocks it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cox trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Cox stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wildspeaker swivels though and keeps the full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Cox gets a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Wildspeaker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cox throws out the jab.

Wildspeaker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cox swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cox will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wildspeaker shoots in looking for a takedown. Cox tries to sprawl out of it but Wildspeaker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cox manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Wildspeaker drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cox manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Wildspeaker has Cox in his guard.

Cox decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wildspeaker, up you get!

Cox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wildspeaker on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Wildspeaker shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cox sprawls well. Cox wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wildspeaker gets slowly back to his feet.

Cox throws a jab but it's blocked by Wildspeaker.

and Wildspeaker counters with a shoot takedown. Cox fights it but they end up in guard.

Wildspeaker has gone for a leg lock! Cox slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wildspeaker's guard.

Cox stands up and waves to Wildspeaker to follow him.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cox closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cox decides to stand up, so the ref orders Wildspeaker to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dewey Cox.
I think Cox has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
