Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hatt Mughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sid Lagove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Lagove's choice of entrance music: little less conversation -Elvis JXL. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lagove is looking to clinch but Mughes is avoiding it.
A swing and a miss from Mughes.
Mughes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lagove.
Mughes stuffs the takedown.
Mughes throws a head kick but Lagove moves out of range.

Lagove feints and as Mughes raises his hands in defense, Lagove changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mughes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mughes tries to get out of the position.

Lagove drops back looking for a leg! Mughes is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mughes manages to kick Lagove off! Lagove jumps back into Mughes's guard.

Lagove throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mughes's waist but Mughes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lagove off to one side.

Lagove drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mughes looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mughes looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mughes!

Mughes wants to stand but Lagove is controlling his arm.

Mughes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lagove keeps working.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lagove wants to control but Mughes is keeping busy.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mughes buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lagove shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mughes pinned against the cage. Mughes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Lagove shoots in but no luck this time.

Mughes throws a lazy head kick

and Lagove counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Lagove loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Lagove postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mughes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lagove, into his guard.
Mughes wants to get up but he can't break Lagove's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Lagove escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mughes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lagove takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lagove is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mughes defends well.
Mughes tries to stand but Lagove is controlling from the bottom.

Lagove had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mughes defends it easily.

Lagove has his foot on Mughes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mughes works his way back into a safe position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Lagove shoots for a double leg takedown but Mughes sprawls well. He's pushed Lagove's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
