Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ben Reilly !
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reilly jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Reilly misses with an uppercut.
Phoenix with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Reilly to score with a decent uppercut.
Reilly pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Phoenix takes one on the button.

Phoenix scores with a takedown into Reilly 's guard.
Phoenix is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Reilly trying to control the position.
Phoenix not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Reilly is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Phoenix throws a big right hand that misses.
Reilly is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Phoenix pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reilly is keeping the position for now.
Reilly looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Reilly throws a shot to the body.
Reilly misses with a looping right.

Phoenix closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Reilly did well to prevent Phoenix getting side control.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Phoenix misses with a head shot. Reilly uses the momentum to regain guard.
Phoenix pushing down on Reilly 's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Phoenix content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Phoenix is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Reilly still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Reilly has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Phoenix wants to control but Reilly postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Phoenix tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Reilly wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Reilly is working to tighten is grip on Phoenix's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Phoenix has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Reilly is really squeezing tight and eventually Phoenix passes out! Reilly breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Ben Reilly !
