PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Lontrame (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Byron Northview (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lontrame comes into the arena with Rocket Skates by The Deftones blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Byron Northview!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lontrame rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Northview moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Northview cracks Lontrame with a right hand to the side of the head.
Northview throws out a powerful jab.
Lontrame throws a nice looking combination but Northview bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lontrame shoots for a double leg takedown but Northview sprawls well. He's pushed Lontrame's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Northview getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Northview swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Lontrame counters by clinching up.
Northview keeps control of Lontrame as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lontrame tries to pull guard but Northview holds him up against the cage and eventually Lontrame drops back down to his feet.
Northview taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Lontrame looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Lontrame drops down looking for an ankle pick but Northview pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vincent Lontrame. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Northview moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Northview has Lontrame up against the cage in a clinch.
Lontrame wants to break free but Northview has control.
Lontrame can't break the clinch.

Lontrame escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Northview gets the takedown into side control.

Northview wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lontrame, who protects the arm well.
Northview moves into full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Northview working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Lontrame turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Northview off and cradles Lontrame's limp body as Northview celebrates with his corner.
