Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vlad Impaler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wagner Flabianno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flabianno has chosen The Pet Shop Boys - Absolutely Fabulous as his entrance music. Wagner Flabianno has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Impaler tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Flabianno swivels and escapes.
Flabianno throws the kick towards the body but Impaler avoids it.
Impaler throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Flabianno slaps away a takedown attempt from Impaler, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Flabianno throws a quick inside leg kick.
Flabianno throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Impaler shoots in for a double leg but Flabianno sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vlad Impaler. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fighters circling - Flabianno throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Impaler is fighting off a takedown attempt but Flabianno is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Impaler to the mat. Impaler regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Impaler is looking for a sweep. Flabianno is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Flabianno seems to be working for a kimura but Impaler defends the submission attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Flabianno throws a wild left hand from mount and Impaler manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.

Flabianno swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Impaler is now in Flabianno's guard. A big mistake from Flabianno there, giving up the dominant position!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Impaler throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Flabianno was covering up waiting for the punch and Impaler finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Impaler is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Flabianno is looking to take a break and control but Impaler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Wagner Flabianno showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Flabianno got a little sloppy there for a moment and Impaler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Flabianno has managed to get both his arms back between Impaler's legs - danger averted.
