PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Cifer Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lasse Lukottaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lasse Lukottaja told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lukottaja takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Cifer Jr fails to land with a series of punches.

Cifer Jr fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lukottaja sprawls well initially but Cifer Jr persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lukottaja works his way to full guard. Good work.
Cifer Jr postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cifer Jr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lukottaja works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Lukottaja is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Cifer Jr wants to control from the top but Lukottaja keeps moving.

Lukottaja had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cifer Jr defends it easily.
Lukottaja seems keen to control Cifer Jr's posture.
Cifer Jr thows a big elbow that misses.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Cifer Jr shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lukottaja's guard.

Lukottaja has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cifer Jr can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cifer Jr has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Cifer Jr not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Lukottaja has his foot on Cifer Jr's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cifer Jr works his way back into a safe position though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lukottaja tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cifer Jr paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Cifer Jr moves into range and clinches up with Lukottaja.

Cifer Jr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cifer Jr sizes up Lukottaja with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Cifer Jr shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lukottaja pushes a forearm under Cifer Jr's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Cifer Jr is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
