The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from dos Nikkos is defended easily by Mikkelsson.
Mikkelsson misses with a body shot.

dos Nikkos shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mikkelsson connects with the punch.

Mikkelsson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Maikkel Mikkelsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mikkelsson lands with an uppercut that bounces dos Nikkos off the ropes and back into rage.

Mikkelsson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

dos Nikkos takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mikkelsson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

dos Nikkos walks straight into a right hand from Mikkelsson - that's dropped him! Mikkelsson jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save dos Nikkos from any more punishment! dos Nikkos complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
