Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Grove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric the hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eric the hammer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ben Grove!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Eric the hammer!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grove has a takedown stuffed.
Grove takes a swing at the hammer's ribcage but misses.
Grove pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Grove tries to clinch up but the hammer circles away and keeps his distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Grove looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Grove wants to clinch.
the hammer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Grove throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Grove tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but the hammer paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and the hammer counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

the hammer lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Grove is looking to improve his position but the hammer isn't that keen on the idea.
the hammer postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Grove looks a forlorn figure.

Eric the hammer dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Grove misses with a double jab.
Grove missing with a left hand there. the hammer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Grove throws a sloppy head kick and the hammer moves out of range easily.
the hammer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Grove tries to avoid it but the hammer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Grove to the ground. Grove escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grove swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Ben Grove has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric the hammer.

and the hammer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Grove won't be happy with that.

Grove is looking for a sweep.
the hammer is looking to take a break and control but Grove is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
the hammer might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Grove kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Grove tries to buck the hammer off but the hammer is having none of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Grove manages to get back to half guard.
Grove is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of the hammer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take the hammer's back!

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for the hammer. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Grove will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

and the hammer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Grove is trying to control the position but the hammer postures up.

Eric the hammer has got the better of the ground game so far.

This has been an exciting period of action!

That was a close second round but I would say that Ben Grove will probably get the nod.
That's time! Grove's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Grove had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. the hammer defends it easily.
Grove isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. the hammer stacks Grove on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by the hammer!

Eric the hammer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think the hammer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
