Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bert Ernie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and tombstone terry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). tombstone terry told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Bert Ernie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, tombstone terry!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ernie shoots for a takedown but terry saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Ernie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Ernie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by terry, who protects the arm well.

Ernie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
terry is looking to regain half guard here but Ernie keeps moving and retains side control.

Ernie swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and terry is now in Ernie's guard. A big mistake from Ernie there, giving up the dominant position!

Ernie is working an open guard so terry takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
terry shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Ernie counters with a shoot takedown. terry fights it but they end up in guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ernie has gone for a leg lock! terry slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ernie's guard.
terry keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ernie's head.

Ernie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but terry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

terry gets to his feet - Ernie follows without any prompting.

Ernie tries to keep at a distance but terry has taken the fight into the clinch.
terry lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

It looks like Bert Ernie has been cut.

Ernie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. terry avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
terry is pushing Ernie up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Ernie on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Ernie really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

terry pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ernie takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
terry has his takedown stuffed

and Ernie counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Ernie drops back, looking for a kneebar! terry looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. terry looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from terry!
terry has knee on belly and moves into mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
terry is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ernie can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

terry closes the distance and clinches.
Ernie blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
terry gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ernie.
Ernie goes for a takedown attempt but terry pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Ernie counters with a shoot takedown. terry fights it but they end up in guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now terry is on top in guard.
Ernie on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ernie tries to get out of the position.

Ernie looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! terry has picked Ernie up and slammed him! Ernie can't keep hold of the triangle and terry manages to pass to side control!

terry gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Ernie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in terry's guard now.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ernie is on top in guard.

Bert Ernie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
terry seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

terry seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ernie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bert Ernie will probably get the nod.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
terry won't allow Ernie to sweep him here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
terry doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Ernie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Ernie postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! terry is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ernie, into his guard.
terry content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bert Ernie showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ernie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
