Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob McCaig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Minoru Cho Choi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cho Choi is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Gerry & The Pacemakers - You'll Never Walk Alone. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob McCaig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Minoru Cho Choi!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cho Choi looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Cho Choi throws out a leg kick but McCaig moves out of range and Cho Choi only half commits.

McCaig drives through with a takedown into guard.
McCaig stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cho Choi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McCaig trying to control the position from guard on top but Cho Choi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McCaig wants to pass the guard but Cho Choi is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cho Choi keeping moving, preventing McCaig from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCaig working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
McCaig throws a strike but Cho Choi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
McCaig keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Cho Choi throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Cho Choi dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on McCaig. That did some damage!
Cho Choi walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. McCaig checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
McCaig scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cho Choi throws a solid leg kick but McCaig takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Cho Choi.
Cho Choi throws out a leg kick but McCaig moves out of range and Cho Choi only half commits.
Cho Choi lands a nice leg kick that just misses McCaig's sensitive parts.
Cho Choi buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

McCaig looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Cho Choi!
McCaig thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Cho Choi wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Cho Choi trying to get back to his feet but McCaig is in full control for now.
McCaig punches the canvas rather than the man.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

McCaig looking for the choke but no joy.
Cho Choi covering up well and avoiding damage.
Cho Choi is trying to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cho Choi is covering up but some of the strikes from McCaig are getting through and doing damage.
McCaig has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McCaig throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
McCaig misses with a punch to the head.

Cho Choi is in a bad position with McCaig working for a choke. Cho Choi manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.

McCaig looking for a triangle here. Cho Choi is fighting it but it looks tight! McCaig pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Cho Choi is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Rob McCaig!
