Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Buford Tannen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pirjo Hakkinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pirjo Hakkinen!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hakkinen leaves Tannen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hakkinen tries to clinch there but Tannen circles away.
Hakkinen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Tannen counters with a single leg into guard. Hakkinen didn't expect that.
Hakkinen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Tannen throwing strikes but missing.
Tannen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Tannen passes Hakkinen's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Tannen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Hakkinen wants to control but Tannen postures up.

Hakkinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tannen keeps working.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tannen lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Hakkinen is trying to control but can't.

and Tannen counters with a right hand to the body.

Tannen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hakkinen to the mat! Hakkinen manages to get full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tannen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hakkinen, up you get!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tannen wants to free his trapped foot but Hakkinen is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Tannen closes the distance and clinches up with Hakkinen, looking for a takedown. Tannen pushes Hakkinen against the cage but Hakkinen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tannen missing with a left hand there. Hakkinen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Tannen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Tannen throws a looping overhand right but Hakkinen ducks down to avoid it.
Tannen throws a nice looking combination but Hakkinen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tannen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tannen shoots in for a takedown but Hakkinen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tannen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hakkinen slaps away a takedown attempt from Tannen, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tannen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hakkinen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hakkinen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Buford Tannen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tannen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hakkinen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tannen as he jumps to the side.
Tannen throws a right hand that Hakkinen ducks under and follows up with a left that Hakkinen also avoids with ease.

Buford Tannen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pirjo Hakkinen.

Tannen stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Tannen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hakkinen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Tannen plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Tannen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tannen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hakkinen's face.
Tannen working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Hakkinen turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Tannen off and cradles Hakkinen's limp body as Tannen celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Buford Tannen!
