Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gandalf Mithrandir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Hilton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roger Hilton has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gandalf Mithrandir's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hilton circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hilton swats away the attempt to clinch by Mithrandir.

Hilton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mithrandir tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hilton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mithrandir leaves Hilton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

It looks like Roger Hilton has been cut.
Hilton will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hilton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mithrandir's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mithrandir's back!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hilton has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mithrandir's face.
You get the feeling that Mithrandir really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Hilton cracks Mithrandir with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Mithrandir's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Hilton throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mithrandir knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hilton on the ground.

Hilton turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hilton manages to end up in side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Mithrandir counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Hilton goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mithrandir prevents it.

Hilton has Mithrandir pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hilton pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mithrandir tumbling to the mat - Hilton dives into Mithrandir's guard.
Mithrandir wants to get back to his feet but Hilton is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mithrandir utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Hilton stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Mithrandir throws up his legs and catches Hilton in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Hilton tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Mithrandir! That came out of nowhere!
