The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hawk looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Mikhailov !
Hawk takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Mikhailov trying desperately to get to his feet.
Hawk looking to finish with strikes here!

Hawk trying to control but Mikhailov is having none of it.
Hawk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hawk is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mikhailov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mikhailov is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Hawk goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mikhailov is on top in guard.

Mikhailov stands up over Hawk, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

It looks like Jackson Hawk has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mikhailov arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Hawk's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
