Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between AJ Thindale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Lava Lava kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jason Miller struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, AJ Thindale!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Miller!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miller gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Miller has an active guard here but Thindale has managed to pass into half guard.

Miller looking for submissions off his back.

Thindale is working for a kimura but Miller is defending it quite comfortably.
Thindale keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Thindale is looking to advance position but Miller won't allow it.
Thindale working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Miller is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Thindale pulls his head out easily.
Miller moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Thindale postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Miller is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Thindale, into his guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miller wants to pass the guard but Thindale is keeping the position.
Thindale is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Thindale keeping moving, preventing Miller from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thindale has control of Miller's left arm, preventing Miller from doing any damage.

Miller decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Thindale, up you get!
Miller looks gassed!
Thindale tries to bum rush Miller with a series of wild strikes but Miller uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Thindale looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Miller darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thindale tries to get to full guard but Miller has control of the leg.
Thindale makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Thindale.

Thindale had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Miller is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Thindale Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Miller's back instead.
Thindale biding his time, looking for the opening.

Thindale keeps control of the position easily here as Miller tries to buck him off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is taking a good look at Miller as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Thindale!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Thindale.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Thindale is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Thindale gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Thindale gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Thindale apologises and we restart here on the feet.


Miller is rocked!


It looks like Jason Miller has been cut.
Miller has his takedown stuffed
and Thindale counters with a big left hand that crumples Miller! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). AJ Thindale!
