Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seth Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micheal Swackhammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Micheal Swackhammer!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kidd has a takedown stuffed.
Kidd shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Swackhammer pinned against the cage. Swackhammer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Swackhammer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kidd.
Nice sprawl there from Swackhammer as Kidd shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seth Kidd. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kidd rushes Swackhammer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Swackhammer thows a huge punch but Kidd dodges it nicely.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Swackhammer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kidd swivels and escapes.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kidd.

Swackhammer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kidd moves into the clinch.
Kidd has Swackhammer pressed against the cage, preventing Swackhammer from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Kidd changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Swackhammer fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Kidd gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kidd decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Kidd lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Kidd wants to pass to mount but Swackhammer is defending the position.

Kidd is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Swackhammer has managed to free his arm - good work.

Swackhammer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kidd moves away.
Swackhammer shoots in for a takedown but Kidd shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kidd thows a body shot but no joy.
Swackhammer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Kidd takes the fight into the clinch.

Swackhammer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kidd.
Swackhammer is trying to stall.
Swackhammer misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Swackhammer is trying to maintain a safe position but Kidd gets an underhook and turns Swackhammer into the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Kidd is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Kidd pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kidd throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Swackhammer.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Swackhammer is trying to break the clinch but Kidd is controlling him.
Kidd has Swackhammer pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Swackhammer manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seth Kidd dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Swackhammer shoots in looking for a takedown. Kidd tries to sprawl out of it but Swackhammer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kidd manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Swackhammer tries to pull guard but Kidd won't allow it.

Swackhammer goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kidd prevents it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kidd knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Swackhammer on the ground.

Swackhammer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Swackhammer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Some bone on bone action there as Kidd checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Swackhammer throws a predictable looking body shot
and Kidd counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

and Kidd counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Swackhammer!

Kidd is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Swackhammer has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Swackhammer!
Kidd will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kidd wants to sweep but no luck.

Kidd has a closed guard, preventing Swackhammer from standing up.
Swackhammer won't allow Kidd to sweep him here.
Kidd is trying to keep Swackhammer in close.
Swackhammer is pushing down on Kidd's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kidd is fighting to maintain full guard but Swackhammer has managed to sneak the leg through.

And that's the end of the fight!
Seth Kidd showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kidd has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
