The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Tajima shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Tajima was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Tajima prevents Alves from getting the reversal.
Alves is working hard here to advance position.
Alves regains half guard.
Alves wants to get back to full guard.
Tajima wants to take a breather but Alves is having none of it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Alves bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tajima's guard.

Alves postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tajima looks a forlorn figure.
Alves is landing with some decent strikes but Tajima is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Alves lands a heavy elbow.

Tajima has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alves is working away from the top position though.

Tajima passes Alves's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Well, if Tajima is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are battling for position here. Alves manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alves is on top in guard.
Alves is working Tajima over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Alves's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Tajima looking for a guillotine here but Alves defends easily.
Alves lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Alves with a flurry of punches that miss.
Tajima preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alves is in close to Tajima's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Tajima is still in real trouble! Can Alves finish him?
Alves sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tajima's guard.
Alves looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tajima with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Alves lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alves dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Tajima has had enough and taps out.
