Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dylan Mcgrath!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Rodgers!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgrath is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Mcgrath shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rodgers's guard.
Rodgers is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mcgrath is controlling him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Mcgrath looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Mcgrath throws a looping overhand right but Rodgers ducks down to avoid it.
Mcgrath thows a body shot but no joy.
Rodgers lands with a slapping head kick.
Mcgrath wants to slow Rodgers down by chopping away at his legs.

Mcgrath tries to keep at a distance but Rodgers has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rodgers tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mcgrath tries to circle away but Rodgers has him pinned against the cage.
Mcgrath is trying to force a seperation but Rodgers has the dominant position.
Rodgers wants to get back to striking at distance but Mcgrath won't allow it.
Rodgers is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mcgrath pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Mcgrath wants to break free but Rodgers has control.
Rodgers drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mcgrath pulls his leg out and moves away.

Mcgrath tries to close the distance and clinch but Rodgers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mcgrath closes the distance and clinches up with Rodgers, looking for a takedown. Mcgrath pushes Rodgers against the cage but Rodgers circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rodgers fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rodgers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Mcgrath will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Rodgers is looking to control Mcgrath's arms but Mcgrath gets an underhook and turns him. Now Rodgers has his back to the cage.
Rodgers landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Mcgrath wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Mcgrath tries to circle away but Rodgers has him pinned against the cage.
Mcgrath has Rodgers pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rodgers manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Rodgers has had enough of the clinch but Mcgrath keeps him there for the moment.

Rodgers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rodgers takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Mcgrath takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Rodgers wants to clinch up but Mcgrath keeps it at a distance.

Rodgers lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Mcgrath tries to break the clinch but Rodgers is controlling the position.
Rodgers is trying to drag Mcgrath to the mat but Mcgrath just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Mcgrath counters with a straight right hand.

Mcgrath has clasped his hands together around Rodgers's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
You can see the frustration on Rodgers's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Mcgrath breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Rodgers wants to stand but Mcgrath is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dylan Mcgrath.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mcgrath, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
