PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and T Model (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Carter has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Model shoots for a double leg takedown but Carter sprawls well. He's pushed Model's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Carter lands with a kick to the ribs.
Carter stuffs the takedown.
Model shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Carter as he avoids it easily.
James Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of T Model.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Carter with a flurry of punches that miss.
Carter stays in close to Model's body and controls the position.
Carter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Model swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Carter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Carter slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Carter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Carter drops back looking for a leg! Model is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Model manages to kick Carter off! Carter jumps back into Model's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Carter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Model's guard.
Carter wants to control from the top but Model keeps moving.

Model is trying to stand up here but Carter is controlling him well.

Carter is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Model doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carter.

Carter thows a huge punch but Model dodges it nicely.

Model looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Model throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Model wants to sweep but Carter has passed to side control!
Model really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Carter is trying to get an arm triangle but Model is defending well.
Model wants to get back to his feet but Carter drags him back down.
Model can't do much from the bottom here.

Carter works to advance to full mount. Model defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Model takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Model is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Model tries to lock up and control but Carter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Carter is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Carter extends the arm and Model is forced to tap!
