Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alessio karalexis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim Silva will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown but karalexis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nice takedown defense from karalexis. No joy for Silva on that attempt.
karalexis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but karalexis keeps working.
karalexis pushes Silva off but Silva dives into side control.

You can see the frustration on karalexis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by karalexis which made him look bad.

karalexis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if karalexis tries to get out of the position.
karalexis wants to improve his position but Silva is controlling well.

Silva working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Silva is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but karalexis frees his head nicely. Oh but Silva has switched to an armbar! karalexis is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
