PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Kuchinta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nixon Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bruno Kuchinta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nixon Red!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuchinta uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Red.
Red throws a leg kick but Kuchinta sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Kuchinta avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kuchinta fails with a takedown attempt.
Red connects with a solid leg kick.
Kuchinta staying out of range there.
Red lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Red throws a solid leg kick but Kuchinta takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Red.

Kuchinta shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Red manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Red wants to sweep here but Kuchinta controlling him for the moment.
Kuchinta pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Red is keeping the position for now.

Kuchinta drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Red manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kuchinta has Red in his guard.

Red is looking to stand up but Kuchinta won't let him.

Red gets to his feet - Kuchinta follows without any prompting.
Red throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Kuchinta has Red up against the cage in a clinch.
Kuchinta jumps guard but Red stands there with Kuchinta around his waist. Kuchinta gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Red controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Red has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kuchinta is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kuchinta is looking to stand up but Red isn't so interested in that idea.
Kuchinta keeping moving, preventing Red from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kuchinta moves away from the strike by Red.
Kuchinta fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Red looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Kuchinta ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Red moves away.

Red thows a left - swing and a miss!

Red throws a lazy right hand but Kuchinta sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Red lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Red throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Nixon Red seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kuchinta comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The fighters circling - Red throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kuchinta dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Red throws a hook to the side of Kuchinta's head but Kuchinta sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kuchinta is looking to clinch but Red is avoiding it.
A slow jab from Red misses its intended target.

Kuchinta feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Red wants to get back to his feet but Kuchinta is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

A close round but Nixon Red will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Red tries to land a leg kick but Kuchinta saw it coming and moves away.

Kuchinta shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Red as he jumps to the side.
Kuchinta is looking to wear down Red with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Kuchinta creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Red sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kuchinta fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Red avoids it really well and circles away.

Kuchinta shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kuchinta was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
