PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lt Parrotface (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bruce Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lt Parrotface!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parrotface clinches up with Steel and pushes him back against the cage.
Parrotface wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A body shot lands from Parrotface.
Steel can't get the takedown.
Parrotface is working Steel over against the cage.

Steel turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Steel manages to end up in side control.
Parrotface takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Steel lands a decent elbow from side control.
Parrotface is trying to control Steel's posture but Steel avoids it.
Steel wants to take a breather but Parrotface manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Steel.
Parrotface wants to stand and escape but Steel is having none of it.
Steel distracts Parrotface with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Steel throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Parrotface works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Steel is looking to work some ground and pound but Parrotface has wrist control.
Steel loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Steel with a flurry of punches that miss.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Parrotface looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Steel wants to clinch up but Parrotface keeps it at a distance.
Parrotface will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Parrotface tries to clinch but Steel moves out of range.

Steel looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Parrotface!
Parrotface wants to get back to his feet.
Steel unloading with bombs!
Steel won't let Parrotface get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Parrotface looks gassed!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Steel controlling from mount.
Steel punishing his opponent with strikes.
Steel raining down shots from the mount!
Steel lands a nice shot to the head.
Steel has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Parrotface's face.
Steel working the ground and pound effectively.
Steel lands a heavy elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Steel looking to finish Parrotface with some ground and pound. This is bad for Parrotface!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Steel is landing with some decent strikes but Parrotface is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Parrotface is bucking up trying to escape but Steel cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Steel connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Steel is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Parrotface is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Parrotface flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Steel anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Parrotface and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Steel slips an arm under Parrotface chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Steel has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Steel is squeezing on Parrotface like an anaconda would it's prey. Parrotface fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bruce Steel!
