The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kidd throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Akari's waist but Akari gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kidd off to one side.

Akari shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Akari was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kidd is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Akari looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Akari wants to finish this one by submission but Kidd is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Akari.

Akari swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kidd is now in Akari's guard. A big mistake from Akari there, giving up the dominant position!

Kidd drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kidd jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kidd drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Kidd as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Akari screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Kidd! Nice submission victory there!
