Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rolex Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rebaldo Louza!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Louza is trying to get back to full guard.
Louza slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Louza looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gracie throws a strike but Louza rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Louza won't allow Gracie to sweep him here.

Louza decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Louza seems to be working for a kimura but Gracie defends the submission attempt.

Louza is trying to control the action in half guard but Gracie is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Louza stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Louza accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gracie dodges the punch combination from Louza.
Louza misses with a takedown

and Gracie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Louza's guard now.

Louza has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gracie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Gracie won't allow Louza to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rolex Gracie will probably get the nod.
That's time! Gracie's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Louza makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Louza.
Louza is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Louza is trying to control. Gracie wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Louza is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gracie doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Louza.
Louza is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Louza seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Louza is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Louza stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Louza closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Gracie is not content to let Louza control the position.
Louza passes to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie is looking for a sweep.
Gracie is trying to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Louza is trying to get an arm triangle but Gracie is defending well.

Louza decides to stand back up. Louza steps back and let's Gracie get back to his feet.
Louza thows a body shot but no joy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown. Louza fights it but they end up in guard.

Louza is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Louza has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Louza's legs - danger averted.
Louza looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gracie would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Rebaldo Louza showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Louza has his foot on Gracie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracie works his way back into a safe position though.

Louza controls Gracie momentarily but Gracie frees himself.
Gracie wants to stand but Louza is controlling his posture from full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Louza working over Gracie with some ground and pound. Gracie looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Louza takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Louza lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rebaldo Louza has got the better of the ground game so far.
Louza working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Gracie is in trouble now - Louza has advanced to mount!

Louza is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Gracie is in real trouble.
Will Louza go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Louza is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Rebaldo Louza comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Louza has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
