Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiyoshi Tanabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Powers comes into the arena with We Run This - Missy Elliot blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Powers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Powers shoots in looking for a takedown. Tanabe tries to sprawl out of it but Powers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tanabe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Powers tries to bum rush Tanabe with a series of wild strikes but Tanabe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Tanabe lands a left and a right that send Powers crashing to the mat, dazed. Tanabe thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tanabe rushes Powers with punches - Powers moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Powers goes down! Tanabe follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
