The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
woodland connects with a crisp jab.
White will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
woodland throws a series of punches but White moves out of range.
woodland ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
todd woodland seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

White drives through with a takedown into guard.
White is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

White stands up from guard. Let's bang!
White throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around woodland's waist but woodland gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing White off to one side.
White moves in looking to clinch but woodland pushes him off.
White looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

It looks like Stephen White has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
White walks into a stiff left hand from woodland.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from woodland.
woodland defends well against a solid takedown attempt from White.

White tries to pull guard but woodland won't allow it.

woodland looks to land a combination. White sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

woodland moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

That has opened up Stephen White's cut even more.

White takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

White shoots in and bounces woodland off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
White won't allow woodland to get back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
woodland throws a leg kick but White sees it coming and moves out of range.
woodland scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. White doesn't seem bothered though.

White pushes woodland up against the cage in a clinch.

White pulls guard effortlessly.
woodland knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for White on the ground.
White tries to strike from the bottom.
woodland wants to get up but he can't break White's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as White holds on and takes a little breather.
woodland is looking to stand up but White won't let him.

White tries to close the distance and clinch up but woodland swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Stephen White's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

White with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling woodland to score with a decent uppercut.
