Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between GK King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Machida coming out on top.
Machida goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Machida looking to land some kicks to the body here.
King scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
King fails to land with a series of punches.

Machida lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

King is breathing heavily.
Machida lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
King wants to land a leg kick but Machida is out of range.

King has closed the distance and engaged Machida in a clinch.
Machida blocks an elbow strike from King.
King throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Machida lands a nice uppercut.
Machida lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of King backwards.
Machida is struggling to control the position.
Machida avoids the elbow strike from King, against the cage.

Machida breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

King gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Machida moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Machida is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! King had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Lyoto Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machida ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Machida scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
King uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Machida.

King throws out a leg kick but Machida moves out of range and King only half commits.
Machida thuds his right hand into King's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lyoto Machida dominated that round.
